18th year
my 18th year was a very different year. though it was only like 1year, it seemed like MANY things happened. i learnt a lot of things too, did many many different things. very eventful year. it was just not an ordinary one.
started off with a great long holiday to london and spain ! visit my sister, watch arsenal and barcelona matches. free movies, nice scenery, playing soccer in super cold weather, watching musical, meeting people. did things like drinking starbucks, watching musical and arsenal match alone. travelled around quite a bit by myself too. it was really fun. free and easy. saw how my sister studied also, like see their way of life. very lucky cause i had a long holiday before the start of army.
then basically came back and went out almost everyday. played tennis. movie after movie. slack like shit !! gamble, club. like some tai tai life. my best holidays ever.
of course there was the a level results. which my whole family was happy about ! and of course i'm happy that i could get into a course that i like. relief and happy that i just, barely made it.
then army started. i was like ai ya no problem. i'm fit enough right ?? nope. i was wrong. army was not easy. being tired, lonely, miserable. getting shouted at everytime. kept on your toes every second. struggling during phyiscal activities. and you can't really complain. missing many things. it was a totally different type of life. you meet many different people.
but slowly i got used to it and adapted. i realised that many of us also felt the same. like out of contact from the rest of the world. lonely and always saying stuff like it's a waste of time, very meaningless, aimless ?? there was also confinement for doing something wrong. and very ugly ugly people who only like to save their own asses.
went to bslc, sispec. made many new and nice friends over there! it was really enjoyable.
and i finally got gold for my ippt! from a fail in bmt. really happy, personal achievement. pass SOC ! shooting live rounds, like machine gun haha, fun. being platoon i/c for more than a week was very enjoyable too.
then ASLC. wa really quite jaded. everyone was like damn sian lol. out of course. went to do admin stuff. you see all these politics, REALLY FUNNY PEOPLE. that piss you off, and try to brag utter nonsense. i really don't understand how they have the cheek to make such statements. after out of course from aslc, i see things in a different way also. as in it's really very different to be a trainee, and a non- trainee.
had a very good "surprise" celebration by darryl, franson and chang too! hahahah
also because of army, many things i had to cope alone. like you don't really have "as many friends" as before. it's just some army thing. me, myself and I . just have to live with it. sometimes being without company, it is unavoidable. you can't force many things.
somehow i did many things in my 18th year that i din't do before. crazy things, daring things. stuff that could get me into big big trouble. it's like a spur of the moment thing. you do think about it, but you still do it !!?? you just risk it. you ask yourself .. why not ??
i'm sure many of my friends at my age had similar experiences. well, i hear it from them anyway. one reason is because we have much more freedom, almost no restrictions. quite suprising too. i think that many people would be surprised about the things i did. certainly i would. it's not things that i would normally do. and i think i may never do them again anyway.
thanks for the wishes !
no regrets.
happy 19th ahead.
you leave me breathless
your everything good in my life

i SO agree. 2007 was one good year, despite all the downs of waiting for a bloody place in university.
